I hope that’s cleared things up.

A Trilby is a short rimmed fedora that was popular in the late 1800’s to late 1940’s. It was perceived as the “Rich Man’s" favored hat. The Trilby is also the UK title for a US fedora. Our fedora’s feature a shorter brim, angled and sharper crown, upturned back to a sharp slanted front.

People who wore a Trilby: John Kennedy, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Depp.

INFACT. In that group of pictures you have displayed under “Fedora", only TWO of those are in fact a Fedora. 1, 3, and 5 are Trilby’s.

FUN FACT: Fedora’s and Trilby’s all began as women’s wear in the late 1800’s, and continued up through 1910, which is when men began wearing them. (mostly rich men, who wore the Trilby First). These began to be associated with the mobs and gangsters you and I all know today, and is now popularly considered part of the staple mens wear.

So, in comparison, a Trilby is the brother to the Fedora, both go hand in hand, and when worn incorrectly, they both look stupid.

Also, ladies, do wear them with your high classy dresses and red lip stick. Throw a trench coat on too. After all, this did begin as YOUR fashion.

HAHAHA Jink I love you and your crazy knowledge of fashion. <3

oh man, good to know!
